Miss Victoria Henderson Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in a wide variety of musculo-skeletal problems, sports injuries and acupuncture. I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000 and worked for 4 years at University Hospital Lewisham where I gained a broad general experience in a number of physiotherapy specialities. I went on to specialise as a Senior Physiotherapist in musculo-skeletal Outpatients, and also trained in Acupuncture. I left the NHS whilst completing my Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy and since have worked in GP clinics, sports centres and private specialist clinics. I returned to Canterbury, where I grew up, in 2007 to concentrate on my independent physiotherapy practice. I started working in The Therapy Group in April of this year (and have loved every minute of it!) and currently work here Tuesdays 3-8pm and Thursdays 8am-1pm. I treat a wide range of aches and pains, whether they be in the muscles, joints or of nerve origin. I've gathered a lot of experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries, orthopaedic conditions and all manner of joint/back/neck pains. These include pain from arthritis, postural and work related strains, tendon and ligament sprains / inflammation, muscle injuries, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis / golfer's elbow, whiplash, cervicogenic headaches, chronic pain, etc. Acupuncture can often be very beneficial in the relief of pain (and stress) and can have positive long-term effects. I am registered with a number of private medical insurance companies which may allow you to claim back your treatment costs. I am happy to discuss appropriateness of physio / acupuncture prior to booking appointments so please feel free to call me for further information on 07900 905 204. Alternatively if you have sufficient information and would like to have a treatment, you can book on-line direct here. Simply select my name and choose an appointment from the times/days available.
Mr Dave Munnings I trained as an Osteopath at the European School of Osteopathy, it was an intensive 4 year degree course which involved large amounts of anatomy, physiology, pathology and practical skills. The university owns its own clinic in Maidstone, Kent where most of our last 2 years of the course are spent treating patients. I can use a wide variety of treating techniques including cranial, which is very gentle and non invasive way of treating, depending on what each individual patient requires. APPOINTMENTS The first appointment is longer (1 hour) as a whole case history is taken about your presenting complaint, previous medical history and general health so I can find out as much as possible and decide what kind of treatment will best suit you. 30 minutes is allocated for subsequent appointments to reassess your situation and monitor any changes before comencing with the treatment. FIRST APPOINTMENT Please arrive a few minutes before the appointed time to fill in a simple registration form. An extensive case history will be taken on the first visit to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and the most appropriate treatment method. Please bring details of any current medication and/or supplements taken. If you have any X-rays, imaging slides or reports please bring them along as they may be usefull. CLOTHING Clients are generally asked to undress to their underwear for osteopathic treatments so please wear appropriate clothing. If you feel uncomfortable undressing then please wear light comfortable clothing so it can be worked around. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on my private mobile number: 07917 679210. Alternatively, if you feel you have sufficient information please book an appointment on our easy on-line booking system or telephone 01227 763300.
Mr John Morrison ITEC qualified Massage Therapist-using traditional and orthodox Holistic and Swedish massage techniques. I am registered and fully insured with the Complimentary Therapist's Association. First massage? Please allow up to one and half hours( 90 mins on the booking system) for your first treatment. You will not be charged for the consultaion, only the treatment (One hour), which is required to ensure you have no 'Contra-indications'. This basically means you do not have any medical conditions which would prevent you from having a massage. If the initial consultation can be completed in less than half an hour I am very happy to add the remaining time to the massage time , giving you more than one hour! Your modesty is protected at all times during the massage with good towel managemnet. Only those areas being 'Worked on' are exposed at any one time. If you are having a full body massage you are free to leave on your lower underwear. There is a private area for changing within the massage room and a large towel is provided to allow you to move from the changing area to the massage couch. Usually you would lie face down in preparation for the start of the massage.Your towel is then re-positioned, without removing it, to leave the length of your lower body covered (with your back uncovered ready for the start of the massage). Later in the massage when you turn over, towels are held in place by myself to protect your modesty. At the conclusion of the massage you may be left to re-dress in privacy. Other therapists may have a diferent system but all are trained in good towel management. My aim is to make you the client feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible throughout the entire process. Shower & toilet facilities are available for your use should you need them. To book an appointment: You can book either using the on-line self booking facility here, or alternatively telephone the reception on 01227 763300. If you experience any difficulties please do not hesitate to contact me directly on 07758 320431.
